Mike Chippendale - a "regular guy"

Mike Chippendale's love of the State of Rhode Island is the driving force that pushed him into the race for State Representative from District 40, and kept him fighting right up to his Election Day victory and beyond. If you asked Mike personally, he would make no claim to being extraordinary - on the contrary, he would simply claim that he is a "regular guy" like his neighbors and friends.

"I have a strong love of Rhode Island - and as living here continued to become more and more unaffordable, I knew I had to take action.  I'm in my seat as District 40's Representative for all the right reasons - and I don't take my responsibilities lightly."

"I'm not another lawyer, or a retired public political hack - I'm a citizen."  Mike adamantly states.  "I'm doing what the founders of this great nation envisioned when they created government of the people, by the people and for the people."

When asked why he ran for office, Mike does not hesitate to tell you that
"Rhode Island is the greatest state in this nation - no exceptions.  I wanted to be in a position to work as hard as I could to rebuild our state to the point where we stop showing up on the bottom of the various lists of 'good states', and the tops of lists of 'bad states'."

Legislative Experience

Mike spent years working with various groups and lobbying at the State House during the 1990’s which gave him first-hand experience with the legislative process, committees and procedures of making law in our State Legislature.

Looking back at the first legislative season - January - June 2011, Mike has plenty to be proud of.  Representative Chippendale quickly became known by all members of the House as a man of principles and a man of his word.  Recognizing that it is important to work with his colleagues on the issues that were important to District 40, and Rhode Island, Mike quickly established himself as a serious legislator who was there to represent his constituents - NOT special interests.

The second legislative season - January - June 2012, has proven to be an extremely productive session with legislative successes on many levels.  Continuing to reinforce his reputation on the House Floor, and in committees as a man of values who will work hard for the people he represents, Rep. Chippendale has accomplished several key achievements in the 2012 session.

If you want to join Mike in his efforts to work on redirecting our state, please visit the Contribution Page to either financially support this effort, or volunteer your time or assets in other areas! Volunteerism in the towns of Coventry, Foster and Glocester are long-time traditions that we hold dear to our hearts and that help define the greatness of our towns.  You CAN make a difference, I encourage everyone to get involved in the community and check with your local towns by visiting their websites, or by calling the town halls to inquire about volunteering opportunities.

No campaign can be successful without the financial contributions of concerned citizens like you.  Our campaign is grassroots - and an unfortunate reality of a 2-year term in office is that you need to constantly be raising funds to ensure that you can mount the best re-election campaign possible.  Youthe taxpayer are my special interest and if you can afford a donation of any amount it will be used directly toward the campaign efforts of getting Mike Chippendale re-elected to State Representative.
